Country Business Controller
Be a key driver of transformation and commercial success.
Are you a finance professional who thrives at the intersection of numbers and strategy? Do you have a passion for performance, business partnering, and making a real impact?
Midsona team in Finland is looking for a Country Business Controller to join the energetic and change-driven team. You’ll play a pivotal role in steering the financial direction and operational effectiveness of our Finnish business.
As part of a well-established FMCG company undergoing a dynamic change journey, we’re strengthening our foundation and enhancing our ways of working. This is your opportunity to lead from the front — helping to build and implement best-in-class financial structures, while actively partnering with the Country Director and commercial teams to elevate performance across the board.
As Country Business Controller you’ll be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the Finnish entity, with a clear mandate to:
- Act as the financial steward of the country P&L, from sales and trade terms to working capital and operating expenses.
- Drive performance by challenging and supporting the commercial organization, providing actionable insights and robust analytics.
- Lead and coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking — ensuring both accuracy and strategic alignment.
- Elevate financial understanding across the organization, making complex concepts practical, and business drivers visible.
- Support critical commercial decisions with sound business cases and profitability analyses — from pricing and contracts to new channels and dump sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of local financial reporting, analysis, and commentary – monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Forecasting and budget coordination aligned with Nordic timelines and standards.
- Proactively manage performance across all P&L elements, identifying improvement opportunities in margin, pricing, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with Sales & Marketing, supporting pricing strategies, promotional planning, and portfolio optimization.
- Lead and support financial and systems-related projects; serve as super user for BI tools (e.g., QlikView, PowerBI).
- Be a sparring partner to the Country Director, offering both strategic support and hands-on financial guidance.
- You will be a member of the Finnish Leadership Team, where you will act as a key business partner, contributing to strategic discussions, driving performance improvements, and ensuring sound financial leadership across the organization.
What we expect from you?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a senior finance role, preferably within FMCG or a commercial organization.
- Strong financial and business acumen – with a proven ability to connect operational drivers with financial outcomes.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., M3, QlikView); strong documentation and audit capabilities.
- Clear communicator, confident working cross-functionally and internationally.
- Structured, analytical, proactive – with a hands-on mindset and a drive for improvement.
- Resilience and absolute sense of responsibility
- Fluent in Finnish & English
