Regulatory/Scientific Support in C3

We are looking for an interim regulatory/scientific support for a 3,5 months project together with our client European Chemicals Agency ECHA. Please note that working language is English.

Job Description:

The ECHA OEL team evaluates 10 substances annually under the contribution agreements from COM/DG EMPL. The team prepares a scientific report on these substances, based on existing information which is found mostly in open literature; these reports are processed in parallel. A committed scientific administrative support is required to assist the permanent scientific staff in the preparatory phases of the OEL reports’ drafting. 

The jobholder will support the unit, more specifically the OEL team, in the search for literature on the substances under assessment. The jobholder may also contribute to drafting the ECHA scientific reports following ECHA’s internal policies and procedures. 

The jobholder will also contribute in general to other work falling under the remit of the team/ unit as needed, including report formatting, reporting, etc. 

Finally, the jobholder will support in other duties related to the implementation of ECHA’s responsibilities related to OELs.  Some of the specific duties are detailed below.

Main duties:

  • Performing searches in ECHA’s and others’ databases, to screen and identify the required and relevant information on substances under assessment
  • Conducting systematic literature searches, mapping and reviewing the relevant studies and other scientific background documents
  • Recording and reporting the selected relevant studies in a consistent way
  • If previous experience exists, analysing and summarising the data and/or scientific studies
  • Supporting the drafting of sections of the ECHA scientific reports on OELs
  • Towards finalisation, participating in the proof-reading and editing of the report and addressing any formatting/ editorial issues ensuring publishable quality
  • Contributing in general to the administrative work of the team and to any other ad hoc ECHA projects (eg. linked to the implementation of ECHA’s responsibilities on OELs).

The job starts as soon as possible and ends 15.9.2025.
