Immigrant integration and settlement training

Briefly

• We offer immigrant integration and settlement training and other services for immigrants (career coaching, job search training, vocational labour market training, competence and skills mapping).
• Normally, the training lasts 240–270 days. The immigrant usually moves to vocational training or the labour market during or after the training. Our services help immigrants establish themselves on the Finnish labour market or find further training. At the same time, their social, cultural and life management skills are improved. On-the-job learning and cooperating with the employer play a significant role in achieving the goals.
• We are a significant provider of immigrant training across Finland. We offer immigrant integration and settlement training in eight ELY centre regions (altogether there are 15 regions). Approximately 2,000 immigrants participate in our programmes annually.
• According to a national survey, some 65% of participants have found a placement by the end of the programme (the survey cover the period from 20 March 2014 to 10 March 2017, number of respondents 5,853). According to customer feedback, 84% of participants rate the service as good or excellent, with an overall score of 4.2.
